Bonsai quando posso

Idee, Bonsai e Prebonsai

Something new

Thursday evening Christian from Bonsai Do Groane so kindly brought me a couple of plants.
First one is, for what we know, some kind of populs. Is an old trunk with some branches starting from it.
Cleaning the soil to repot it I've noticed that the roots were grown caotically, so I decide to divede the plant in two. One with small branches apart from the old trunk and the other formed by the trunk with a couple of braches.
The work was quick but the roots weren't in health so I hope the plants can survive.
The other plant is a large trident maple. Since the roots are far from be nice my proposition is to air layer the tree in the most appropriate starting point and the restarting all the work on this. So for now I will leave it free to grow.
More or less is the same job that I have to do with this maple palmatum.
