Ieri sera al club ho rinvasato un paio di piante, ginepro procumbens e chaenomeles hanno un nuovo contenitore (vaso provvisorio, in attesa di uno più bello tra un paio d'anni).

Per entrambe un vaso più piccolo ma con un substrato di qualità migliore.

Il procumbens aveva un apparato radicale sovradimensionato che ho tagliato in maniera consistente, alcune radici sembrano in buona posizione per il nebari. Ho scelto un mix tra lapillo con una piccola parte di kiryu. Ho modificato l'inclinazione quindi bisognerà rivedere la struttura, soprattutto dell'apice. Vedremo come si troverà la piantina.

Il chaenomeles dal canto suo aveva delle buone radici superficiali con due grossi fittoni che si sviluppavano attorno al vaso. Rimossi quelli in pratica il lavoro era già finito. Per questa pianta il mio classico mix di tutti i substrati.

La speranza è che si sviluppino dei polloni per favorire un disegno a ceppaia.

Ho completamente dimenticato di fare foto relative al lavoro sulle radici quindi posso solo mostrarvi il risultato finale.

Yesterday at the club I made two repots, and now juniperus procumbens and chanomeles have a new pot (cheap ones, I will find something nicer for the next future repot), for both of them is smaller but the substrate is better.

Procumbens had a very large root ball, that I strongly cut down, sone of the higher roots looks fine for the nebari. I used lapillo with the adding of some kiryu for this plant, it's a new mix for me and I want to see how it works. I've slightly change the tilt of the plant so I have to check the apex.

Chaenomeles had a nice compact root apparel with only two long and strong roots. Once them were cut the job was pretty mostly done.

For this one I used my classic substrate mix. I hope that the plant will start to grow some suckers branch to develop a multitrunk or stump style.

Eccomi per parlare un po' della nuova chaenomeles.
Mi è immediatamente piaciuta questa piccola piantina, era inoltre da qualche tempo che avrei voluto provare a lavorare su una pianta da fiore con stile a ceppaia.
Anche se è evidente che sia lontana dall'essere perfetta per me è molto stimolante come pianta.
Ieri sera ho avuto modo di studiarla per bene per decidere come procedere coi lavori.
Prima di tutto la pianta necessita un bel rinvaso in un substrato leggero e più adatto, in questo modo la pianta sarà più libera di svilupparsi, inoltre questa specie dovrebbe generare nuovi polloni che sarebbero adatti per lo stile a ceppaia.
Ora arriviamo alla parte più problematica. Come potete vedere il tronco e i rami sono molto rovinati dal filo, inoltre alcuni di essi sono anche cilindrici e senza movimento.
La mia idea è quella di tagliare la parte più alta dei tronchi e accorciare i rami in maniera da stimolare nuove gemme.
Purtroppo anche parti più basse delle piante sono rovinate dal filo, non so bene come agire su queste zone, forse lavorando sul tronco piano piano si potrebbe riuscire a migliorare la situazione.
C'è anche un pollone che parte da un tronco. Ha una bella forma e tagliarlo mi sembra proprio un peccato, la mia idea è quella di fare una margotta a contatto col terreno così da avere un nuovo tronco già ben sviluppato.
Quello che non so e dovrò chiedere ai saggi del club è se posso fare tutte queste lavorazioni durante quest'anno o se dilatarle in un paio di anni.

So, here I am talking about the new chaenomeles.
I immediatly find the small tree nice, since it's a little bit of time that I want to try a flowering plant like this in a group style. And even though it's far from perfection i really want to try work on it.
Yesterday evening I took sometimes to figure out what will be the next works.
First of all a good repotting with a ligther substrate that will give the roots the opportunity to grow freely, and since trees like this grows many suckers in favorable conditions I can use them to create a group style.
Now is the point where the issues comes. As you can see many branches are ruined due to an inappropriate use of the wiring, moreover some of the are so cylindrical and without movement.
So my idea is to cut the top of every trunk, cut back the branches and try to stimulate the back buds.
Still some parts of this plant is really ruined by the wiring, I no idea of how to work on. Maybe working on the wood could be a choiche,
There is also a sucker that is well developed and it will be a pity to cut it away. So I want to try a ground layering. So it will became a new branch.
My problem is that I don't know if I can do all these work on this year or it's a better solution to deferring times during a couple of years, I have to ask to my club mates for some hints.
