Ieri stavo osservando le piante e ho notato che le foglioline dei salici si sono seccate. 

È un fatto decisamente curioso anche perché si era già presentato lo scorso anno. Le piante sembrano in buona forma però stranamente soffrono di questo problema.

Sapendo che il salice ama l'acqua sto facendo un tentativo mettendo un sottovaso al vaso così da lasciare sempre un pochino di acqua disponibile (non lo farei con altre essenze ma col salice credo non ci siano problemi di marciume).

Terrò monitorata la situazione

Was observing my plants and I noticed that some of the leaves of the weeping willows leaves are dryied.

Curious fact is that it has happened also last year. The plants are apparently in good health but the leaves not.

Since is known that the weeping willows loves water I put a saucer under the pot to provide a major amount of water to the plants. (I wont do it with other species due to the rotten roots risk, but with this essence I don't think I'll have problems).

However I will keep an eye on.

Ho visto che i salici hanno iniziato a gonfiare le gemme e sapendo che sono piantine piccole ma tenaci (hanno resistito a rinvasi potature cadute) ho deciso di mettere in pratica un'idea e le ho poste in vaso tutte assieme. Ho dato una bella sfoltita alle radici più lunghe che puntavano verso il basso, e ho cercato di posizionare al meglio quelle nella parte superiore.

Trovo la disposizione delle tre piantine molto graziosa e bilanciata, e crescendo penso si possano adattare bene le une alle altre.

Ho scelto un terriccio misto di pomice, akadama e un pochino di kiryu, l'unica preoccupazione è che, essendo piante che amano molto l'acqua, il substrato possa essere fin troppo drenante. Dovrò eseguire le annaffiature in maniera molto accurata e scrupolosa.

Ora non mi resta che sperare che le piccole sopportino questa ulteriore fatica!

As I see the weeping willow enlarging the buds (and knowing for experience how strong are these three plants) I immediatly decide to repot them achieving an Idea that I had some time ago, putting the three weeping willows togheter.
So I gave a good cut to the lower and longer roots and I try to put in a good position the visible ones.
I think that the disposition that I built is balanced and graceful, and I think that growing together the plants will find a good equilibrium.
I choose a mixed soil made of pumice, akadama and kyriu, I'm only worried that since willows are water lovers trees the soil can be too much draining. I have to do the watering in a really accurate way.
Now I only have to wait and see if these small ones can survive this further effort.

Dato che il tempo sembra peggiorare ma le previsioni scongiurano rischi di gelata ho deciso di iniziare i rinvasi. Sono partito dai prebonsai, specialmente quelli che davano già segni di risveglio.
Ho quindi rinvasato tre salici tutti già con le gemme quasi aperte, un castgno nella stessa condizione e tre faggi, di cui uno solo era già sveglio. Essendo però tutti e tre nello stesso vasetto non ho avuto scelta e li ho spostati.
Non ho mai avuto problemi con i rinvasi ma data la precocità del periodo e il fatto che ho utilizzato un substrato per me nuovo sono un po' preoccupato. Spero vada tutto bene.
Dicevo del substrato, girando sui forum mi è stato consigliato di usare la pomice per questo tipo di coltivazione dato che permette un rapido sviluppo della pianta e al contempo nel momento del futuro rinvaso lascerà "pulite" le radici. Comunque controllerò bene le piante fino a quando non le vedrò stabili.

Since that apparently this year it wont freeze anymore i've decide to do the first repottings. I've started from the prebonsai, especially the ones with awakening feedbacks.
So i repotted three willows, a chestnut , and three ashes. Unfortunally only one of the ashes was sprouting but since the all three plants were in the same pot i had to repot all of them.
I've never experienced any problem with repotting but this time it's a little different due to the fact that i have used a substrate that i have never used before: pumice. Actually i have read in many forums that this is the best "soil" to use when plants need to grow, but since I've never used it i don't know if everything is fine.
I think everything will be ok but i will look after this plant till i don't see them stabilized.

La brutta notizia è che l'agrifoglio sembra davvero passato a miglior vita.
