Ieri ho terminato il lavoro di impostazione del larice, o per lo meno la prima e più importante impostazione, ci sarà ancora molto lavoro di fino da fare ma credo che per quest'anno questa pianta sia già stata stressata fin troppo.
Il lavoro eseguito era volto a modificare le inclinazioni dei tronchi principali. In principio la pianta appariva disordinata, ad oggi invece i tronchi sono stati portati su un piano più omogeneo.
L'utilizzo di legature e tiranti mi ha permesso di trovare una buona disposizione (anche se non ottimale) e di potermi così occupare dei rami.
Il risultato mi sembra buono anche se ovviamente con la pianta ora ha bisogno di rinforzarsi per emettere qualche nuovo ramo da inserire nel disegno.

Yesterday I finished styling the larix stump. Yes the tree need some more details finishing but for now I think the plant has been stressed enough.
Major work was on the inclination of the trunks, starting point was an heterogeneous group of plant, With a work of wiring and ties I achieved a better design, from that point I've focused on the branches giving to the plant a proper design.
I think the result is oretty good, the tree now needs a restfull period where it can grow stronger.

Voglio mostrare qualche foto del frassino. In questi giorni l'ho pulito e potato. Essendo una pianta davvero generosissima non ho molte remore a tagliare sapendo che poi la pianta ricaccerà con vigore.
Col prossimo rinvaso dovrei riuscire a mettere finalmente la pianta nella giusta inclinazione. Mi servirà per stabilire la forma definitiva della pianta.
Al momento il frassino presenta una ramificazione carente nella parte alta, ciò però non dovrebbe essere un problema proprio per la vigorosità della pianta, sono certo che col passare del tempo si riempirà anche in alto.
La parte bassa è più spoglia anche se qualche ramo fa ben sperare per il futuro, può anche darsi che io decida comunque di non utilizzare i rami più bassi.
Sul frassino è molto difficile contenere lo sviluppo dei rami, che hanno la tendenza ad aumentare di dimensione molto velocemente. Bisogna essere tempestivi nelle pinzature in primavera.
Per quanto non si noti dalla foto frontale devo dire che sono soddisfatto di come si stà sviluppando la ramificazione principale.

I want to show some pictures of the ash. In These days I cleaned it and pruned. Being a really generous plant I have no regrets about cutting a lot knowing that then the plant will grow vigorously.
With the next repotting I will be able to finally put the plant in the right angle. It will necessary to establish the final form of the plant.
At the moment the tree present a lack of ramification in the higher and the lower part. For the high I have no doubt that new buds will spring. In the lower part of the trunks there are some branches that I can let grow freely to grow (otherwise I can cut them away).
Ash ramification is hard to control. Branches in fat grow very fast and thick so spring pinching is mandatory.
Front picture doesn't shows it but it's noticiable in the other pictures that the primary ramification is good (at least for me).

Ieri ho potato la foresta di Picea in vista dell'inverno. Mi sono limitato ad una pulizia ma osservando l'evoluzione delle foto dal giorno della costruzione del boschetto si può notare un miglioramento.

Le piantine ora potranno respirare meglio e prendere più luci, crescendo più forti l'anno prossimo

I've pruned the picea forest yesterday. I've just cleaned it a bit but watching the evolution of the forest since the first day it noticeble the improvement.

Now the plants can breathe better and they can receive a better light.

Abbiamo incontrato questa pianta un paio di settimane fa, mi era stata data da Christian e col Maestro Gaetano Settembrini avevamo pensato ad uno stile soffiato dal vento.
Ieri sera l'ho potata togliendo i rami che ritenevo non necessari e l'ho avvolta col filo. Dando una leggera impostazione. 
Ho deciso di lasciare tutta la parte verde da un lato e dall'altro tutta la parte secca come se la pianta avesse subito un trauma.
La pianta ha ancora bisogno di un ritocco da un occhio più esperto, la prossima stagione grazie alla selezione dei rami effettuata crescerà forte e si riempiranno i rami.

We met thi plant a while ago, Christian gave it to me and with Master Gaetano Settembrini we decide for a blown design.
Yesterday I've pruned it and wired it, The styling need an experinced look to be fixed.
I leave the green part of the plant on a side and the dry trunk on the other just like a lightning struk.
Thanks to the pruning this plant will grow stronger.

That's this month evolution

Ho fatto un veloce spostamento col larice ponendolo in una cassetta più robista quindi più adatta alla lavorazione. Ho preforato la cassetta per favorire il drenaggio e per puntare il filo dopodiché ho spostato la pianta evitando di maltrattarla troppo.

Ho rimosso solo qualche radice superficiale che non presentava capillari.

Ho fatto molta attenzione a far penetrare il terriccio bene tra le radici per non lasciare sacche d'aria.

Ora la pianta potrà essere lavorata in sicurezza anche utilizzando tiranti.

Well I moved the larix into a better and stronger box which will be more adapt to work with.

I pierce the box to make it drain and to tie the wire, then I moved the plant trying not to ruin the roots (I only cut a couple of them that were lying over the soil).

I really put attention on filling well the empty spaces between roots. Now the plant is ready to be worked.

Queste sono le piante che ho lavorato durante i primi seminari del club. Erano piante prese in vivaio e lavorate per raggiungere un disegno senza però purtroppo poter potare troppo aggressivamente i rami per non pregiudicare la salute della pianta. Ho sempre trovato alcuni rami troppo grossi o con la vegetazione troppo distante. Passata una stagione vegetativa ho deciso di intervenire.

Sul tasso ho lasciato l'impostazione iniziale ma accorciando i rami oppure sostituendoli con altri di minore dimensione. Questo per compattare la struttura e migliorare le proporzioni.

Ho anche rilegato parte dei rami per posizionarli. Ho colto l'occasione per lavorare sulla legna secca per ridurre le dimensioni dei jin e assottigliare la parte alta.

Nel caso dell'abies invece mi sono limitato a una pulita delle nuove cacciate e alla potatura e selezione dei rami anche in questo caso per compattare la struttura.

Il disegno per entrambe è rimasto quello iniziale ma sono con questa operazione, poco spettacolare, spero di essermi portato verso una maggiore qualità delle piante.
In primavera col rinvaso si potrà liberare il nebari ed allora si potrà vedere tutto il potenziale di queste piante.

Those plants are the one I worked on during the masterclass at the club. Those were purchased in a garden center and heavily worked on, obviusly not all what we want to do was possible due to not compromise the tree wealth. This lead to a result which was good but that I didn't like, some branches were too thick, the leaves were to distant from the trunk. I wasn't satisfied.
So after a growing season I decide to renew these plants.
On the taxus I cut all the bigger branches rebuilding the silhouette with smaller and shorter ones when possible. I also rewired the branches who needed. 
I took the occasion to shorten the jins and to work on the higher dead wood.
For the abies I choose to remove the new grow, to cut back the branches and to do a selection cutting,
The design remain the same for both the plants but with this unspectacular operation I hope to abtain a more compact and fine structure.
With the spring repot I will show the nebari so the plants will show their truth potential.

Questo è solo l'inizio dell'impostazione di una pianta: dopo aver terminato di pulire il mio larice a ceppaia durante il seminario il mio amico Christian mi ha passato questa pianta (dovrebbe essere un abete) che aveva portato per darle una pulita iniziale e eventualmente studiare un'impostazione. 

Dopo aver rimosso rametti vari, rami lunghi e nuovi getti ho mostrato la pianta al Maestro Gaetano Settembrini che ha suggerito uno stile spazzato dal vento dato che la maggior parte dei rami ha la tendenza a muoversi verso sinistra.L'idea è quella di una pianta soffiata e non straziata dalla forza del vento. Lo shari sulla parte destra serve a dissimulare lo spessore del tronco aumentandone la conicità.

Sono solo i primi passi per questa pianta ma farò degli aggiornamenti.

This is just a starting phase on this plant life as a bonsai. As I finished working on my larch during the masterclass I had some time left so my friend Christian gave me this spruce that he brought which needed a cleaning. After doing it I shown to master Gaetano Settembrini who suggested a light wind swept style since the best branches are all on the left side.

Shari on the right side is usefull to increase the conicity of the trunk. More developings will shown soon.
