Some works

Ieri io e il mio amico Matteo abbiamo preparato qualche margotta.

La prima su un melograno che avevo margottato qualche anno fa dalla pianta madre e che avevo poi regalato a Matteo.

Ora abbiamo preparato l'anello nel punto più largo del tronco sperando di ottenere radici. Una volta staccata la metteremo in un vaso ampio e sarà lasciata libera di svilupparsi.

Siamo passati poi agli aceri.

Al palmatum ho usato la margotta in due punti. Nella parte più alta ho fatto l'incisione appena sotto la divisione dei due rami mentre nella parte bassa ho cercato di seguire la zona che si allargava e che probabilmente indica il punto in cui era stato innestato l'acero.

Nella caramella di plastica ho inserito sfagno umido mentre nella margotta bassa ho riempito il vaso di pomice e sfagno.

Lo stesso lavoro è stato fatto anche sull'acero tridente.

L'idea è di ottenere due aceri bassi con una base bella larga. La margotta aerea è più che altro un tentativo. Quella parte sarebbe da eliminare e se dovesse riuscire la margotta avrei una pianta in più. 

Yesterday I was with my friend Matteo and we prepared some layerings.

First his pomegranate, I have layered this plant some years ago and then gave it to him. Now we prepared a layering in the largest point of the trunk. If it will work the plant will be put in a large pot to grow freely.

Then we layered two maples. 

Acer palmatum had two layerings. One where the trunk divide in two (This part of the plant should be cut so I try a layer to abtain a second tree). Into the plastic bag  I put some very wet sphagnus.

The second layering is in the lower part, I do the same to the trident maple, and in the pot I added pumice and sphagnus.
