Ginkgo

Di ritorno da Arco! Bellissimo weekend, il post dedicato arriverà tra qualche giorno, devo ancora controllare tutte le foto...
Insieme a me ci sono anche due nuove piante! Quella che presento qui è un Gingko Biloba.
È una specie che non mi ha mai attirato particolarmente fin quando non ne ho vista una splendida al coordinamento bonsai Piemonte Lombardia organizzato un paio di anni fa dal mio club. Dato che si era in ottobre l'esemplare presentava una meravigliosa chioma di foglie gialle che mi ha conquistato.
Presso lo stand di Bonsai Plaza ho trovato sue bei esemplari che hanno subito attirato il mio sguardo. Ho scelto la più grande delle due per le migliori proporzioni e la maggiore conicità.
Ero perplesso per la minuta dimensione delle foglie e per il terriccio che sembrava un po' troppo compatto. Facendo quattro chiacchiere con lo staff mi hanno informato che da loro (in Olanda) il tempo è stato molto fresco e che le piante si stanno quindi risvegliando ora (in effetti tutte le piante dello stand erano più indietro rispetto alle nostre), ho chiesto anche se la pianta avrebbe sopportato un rinvaso anche un po' tardivo e mi hanno dato conferma.
Oggi quindi,incoraggiato anche dalle previsioni meteo che danno brutto tempo e temperature fresche per i prossimi giorni, ho effettuato subito l'operazione, preferisco un rinvaso rischioso che tenere la pianta in un terreno che con le nostre temperature potrebbe causare qualche problema.
Ho mantenuto praticamente tutto il pane radicale tranne qualche radice oggettivamente sovradimensionata. Il vaso che ad una prima occhiata sembrava molto grande si è invece rivelato proporzionato alla quantità di radici.
Ho usato il mio solito substrato misto e ho posto la pianta in una zona fresca del mio giardino dove il sole fa capolino la mattina e il tardo pomeriggio.

A couple of plants came back with me! The one I present is a Ginkgo Biloba. I never been much interested in this species until a couple of years ago when a beautiful exemplar was shown at the Piedmont Lombardy exhibition that my club organized. Since we were in October that plant present a wonderful yellow colour of its leaves that make me fell in love with it.
So when I saw a couple of specimens at the Bonsai Plaza stand I decide to buy one. I choose the larger one since it was more proportionated and the conicity of the trunk was better. However there were a couple of issues that leave me puzzled, the small dimension of the leaves and the compact soil. Having a chat with the staff my concerns were swept away. I was told that in Nederland the weather was pretty warm this month so the plants just woke up (all the trees in their stand were a little back in developing to be truth) and that a repot could be possible since these are strong plants.
So encouraged from the weather forecast that provide fresh rainy days I decide to repot. It may be risky but I prefer this to an Italian hot summer with a too much compact soil.
I keep almost all the rootball (just cut the overgrown) and put it back in the same pot; it appears to be so large but trust me the roots fit perfectly in it.
I used a mixed substrate and placed the plant in the fresher part of my garden where the sun shows up only in the morning and in late afternoon.
