Temperature on a roller coaster

Questo era il mio giardino nella mattinata di ieri. Dopo una notte di pioggia gelata le piante si sono risvegliate coperte da uno strato di ghiaccio. Come si vede dalle foto anche i bonsai esposti all'esterno hanno subito lo stesso trattamento. Si riesce a vedere quanto ghiaccio ci fosse anche nei vasi interrati. Oggi d'altro canto le temperature si sono alzate molto e già a metà mattina i substrati erano asciutti e quindi le piante si sono meritate una bella annaffiata.
Dopo un paio di inverni relativamente caldi quest'anno le piante stanno affrontando una sfida più dura. Le temperature sono fredde e le precipitazioni sono scarse quindi sto tentando di mantenere i bonsai al meglio, controllando rigorosamente le annaffiature sia per le piante riparate che per quelle all'esterno.

So this was my garden yesterday moring after a night of an intense icy rainfall. All the plants and the bonsai were covered with a this ice layer. The soil itself was freeze. This morning, instead, was so warm that the plants and substrate went so dry that they need a nice watering. Now another freezing cold night.
What will happen? 
After a couple of years of warm winters this time the plants are challenging a though climate. I hope I'm doing well with the maintenance checking regulary the watering both for inside and outside plants.
