A 5 minutes job

Domenica è toccato anche all'acero rosso (palmatum). La pianta era sicuramente in vaso da moltissimo tempo, fatto che ci ha creato non poche difficoltà nell'estrazione e nella districazione e scelta delle radici.

Il lavoro è stato drastico e la speranza è ovviamente che la pianta sopporti uno stress del genere...

Come si può vedere dalle foto il lavoro eseguito è stato incredibile. Per districare il grosso pane radicale abbiamo lavato le radici in 5 o sei riprese. La terra originale era pessima, argillosa, praticamente incollata alle radici, siamo riusciti a toglierne un buon 90%.

C'è stato bisogno di una sega per togliere velocemente la grossa parte delle radici, e con un trochese abbiamo tagliato un tondino, al suddetto tondino era attaccata una rete, quella che probabilmente conteneva il pane radicale in principio. Anche la rete è stata rimossa quasi tutta. 

Abbiamo tagliato molto le radici tentando di lasciare una discreta quantità di radichette e capillari.

Il nebari è molto strano e contorto e su suggerimento di Edoardo abbiamo deciso di lasciare quello strano gruppetto di radici che spuntano lateralmente per decidere successivamente il da farsi.

Ora è in un vaso basso (il suo tagliato) con pomice e un po' di kanuma.

Ora vedremo se questa pianta è una guerriera!

Sunday was also the time to repot the red palmatum maple. This plant was in this pot since several years, this created some issues to us to disentagle the roots. 

It has been quite a stressful work my hope is that the tree will survive.

As shown in the pictures we washed the root for five o six time to clean them from all the clay soil.

We used a saw to cut the big root group in a short time, we also had to cut away a metallic wire (half inch thick). we also find a net in which the roots where clinged. The net was probably thet one that contained the roots originally, now almost all of it has been removed.

We cut the largest roots trying to leave some of the capillaries and some of the smaller roots.

Nebari actually is really strange and thanks to an Edoardo's hint we do not cut some peculiar roots that came outside the soil. In this low pot we put akadama and kanuma.

Now let's hope this is a warrior tree!
