So let's begin

Inizia un nuovo anno (a proposito, AUGURI) e con esso iniziano nuove avventure bonsai, come forse sapete mi piace ogni anno raccogliere semi e raccoglierli per sperare in tante nuove piccole piantine.

Quest'anno sto provando una semina in sabbia pura, l'anno scorso col terriccio ho avuto buone risposte da aceri e glicini e risultati alterni con liquidambar e platani, e nessun risultato con i tigli.

Ho preparato dei sottovasi con semplice sabbia e ho posto i semi, io non utilizzo la tecnica della stratificazione ma li pongo in vaso appena li raccolgo, in questo modo i semi "sentono" l'inverno.

Per i semi di tiglio, molto coriacei, ho effettuato una piccolo trattamento, ho grattato il seme (tecnica letta on line) per permettere un minimo accesso d'acqua all'interno e favorire la germinazione.

Sotto troverete una lista delle essenze seminate (sempre che non ne abbia dimenticata qualcuna), alcune hanno buona probabilità di germinare (aceri e robinia per esempio) mentre per altre come frassino e tiglio sarà più difficile, staremo a vedere.

A new year stars, btw HAPPY NEW YEAR, and with it some new bonsai adventures, as some of you may know I like to collect seeds and plant them.

This year I'm trying a pure sand nursery pots; last year with a classic soil substrate I obtained some good results, as with maples and wistiria, some "as not as good as I would" resultS (liquidambar and plane tree) and no results with the linden.

So I've prepared some plastic saucers with sands and I placed there the seeds. I usually don't use the stratification thechnique, since I set the seeds into the pot as soon as I collect them, in this way they can "feel" the winter.

I found a process on the web for the linden seeds; they hardly germinate, so I rubbed the seed on a hard material to permit a small amount of water to enter to it and help the growing.

I wrote a list of the seeds I've collected (I think I miss something), some of them will probably grow like maples and locust-tree, others are "hard to germinate" like ash and lindes. We will see.
