Large Trident works

In questa settimana ho finalmente iniziato i lavori sul l'acero tridente. Per prima cosa ho eseguito una selezione dei rami, tenendo solo quelli che ritengo necessari. Purtroppo si nota la mancanza di un ramo sulla destra sopra il primo ma sono quasi certo che questa pianta caccerà copiosamente.
Sono passato poi alla rifinitura dei vecchi tagli, sono abbastanza soddisfatto, anche se la grossa cicatrice sul fronte avrà bisogno di essere riverificata,. Quella posteriore che arriva fino all'apice è stata ridotta e con la crescita dovrebbe migliorare. Ho trattato le cicatrici con un antifungineo.

At last I've started working on my Trident maple. First I cut all the useless branches keeping the right ones; on the right side something is missing but I'm sure that the plant will spread vigorously.
The I take care of the old cutting and scars, I work on them the best that I can and I'm pretty satisfied. The big front one and the back one at the top will need further cares but with the growing they should improve. I've applied some antifungal.

Qualche giorno dopo ho ripreso in mano la pianta per il rinvaso, l'idea è di mettere la terra in una grossa ciotola di coltivazione forata e porre tutto nell'orto.

Ho estratto la pianta dal vaso e cominciato la pulizia delle radici; anche utilizzando un grosso uncino e il getto d'acqua ci ho messo quasi un'ora e mezza.

Ho rimosso tutte le radici che si dipanavano da sotto la pianta e ho rimosso un paio di grossi monconi di radici.

A couple of days later I repot the plant. The idea was to put it in a cultivation pot and then place it in my vegetable garden.

I took off the tree and I started cleaning the roots. With the help of a large hook and water pression i washed all clean, but it took me almost an hour and half.

I removed all the roots that started under the plant and I cut a pair of big knobs.

Una volta terminate le operazioni di pulizia delle radici ho posto la pianta in una grossa ciotola di coltivazione bucherellata (solo nella parte alta, è li che vogliamo si sviluppino le radici).

Ho scelto un substrato di pomice con una base drenante di ghiaia.

una volta fissata la pianta e riempito per bene il vaso ho preparato un buco nell'orto e ho messo a dimora il tutto. Ecco l'evoluzione della pianta in questi giorni.

Once the cleaning was done I put the plant into a large pinholed pot, I used a pumice substrate with a grain draining layer. Then I dig a hole in my vegetable garden and I placed there the plant.
