Bonsai quando posso

Idee, Bonsai e Prebonsai

Abies Koreana, repot

Published by Unknown under on 12:25

I was bored yesterday afternoon so I decide to do some jobs and take some risks.
I repot the two Koreana firs, they were in a compact clay soil which gave me some watering issues with the first plant last summer. The second one is just arrived, I worked it last week.
Roots were in different situation, first one had many branches with so many capillaries so I cut it strongly to compact it. The second was less developped so I leave on most of the branches.
Pot are small so they can guarantee a compact develop.
I use a mixed soil made by pumice, akadama, kyriuzuma, kanuma and lapilli, then I add some soil and some choke to stabilize the ph.
This kind of soil worked fine with my picea forest. Weather shoul helps too, forecasts says that there will be a light rain with over the zero night temperature.
I will leave the plant free to grow trought this year.
